Vocal Ensemble Duodektet consists of 16 singers who know each other from the rich Amsterdam choral scene. They have been coming together since 1996 to make good music. Duodektet performs intimate choral works at various locations and, with their musical passion and vocal quality, also storms large cathedrals with virtuosic polyphonic works. The repertoire ranges from music from the early Renaissance to contemporary compositions.

Musical diversity

Duodektet received both the Prix Special Renaissance and the second prize in the libre category at the prestigious Florilège Vocal de Tours , which typifies their broad musical repertoire. Luc Löwenthal founded Duodektet in 1997 and conducted the ensemble. From 2009, Christiaan Winter held the musical direction. Since January 2025, Duodektet has been led by Béni Csillag, with Irina Sisoyeva as co-repetitor. The ensemble regularly collaborates with members of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra.
