Fancy coming to the Amsterdamse Bos to spot plants, birds, animals, insects and mushrooms? Let’s map the biodiversity together! A month of excursions, workshops and expeditions.
Did you know that thousands of species of plants, birds, mushrooms, mammals, and insects live in the Amsterdam Forest combined? From rare butterflies to aquatic insects and mysterious mushrooms, and you can help discover them! During the BioBlitz, we will map the rich biodiversity of the Forest together.
During the BioBlitz from May 9 to June 7, we will map as many species as possible. Throughout this month, you can participate in guided excursions and activities focusing on various species and locations in the Forest, or simply go on your own BioBlitz expedition.
A BioBlitz is a large, joint wildlife count in which everyone participates: researchers, experts, and you. The observations are used for real wildlife research and help protect the Forest.
