In a space capsule, three astronauts drift weightlessly and aimlessly toward a black hole. Earth as we knew it has been destroyed, and return is impossible. The end seems inevitable. With screeching guitars, pounding beats, and hallucinatory soundscapes, they search for meaning just before they disappear. Language no problem.

About the creators

The Nachtmotten collective (Merel van 't Hooft, Cas van Eldonk, and Mystha Mandersloot) creates personal, raw performances that merge music, performance, visual art, and theater. With a critical and ironic perspective, the collective explores the shifting relationships between artist, audience, and society. They previously created PONZI (2023), about the cult-like world of pyramid schemes, and THIS IS YOUR SHOW (but it's our name on the poster) (2024), in which they offered the entire content of the performance for sale to the public. MOTHS TO THE FLAME is a new version of this piece, in which they once again take full control.
