20 years of queer nightlife in Amsterdam

FPQ (F*cking Pop Queers) is celebrating its 20th anniversary. What started in 2006 as a Wednesday night party at STUDIO80 grew into a monthly event at Jimmy Woo. During that time, FPQ developed into a fixture in the Amsterdam queer scene, where pop music and queer nightlife come together.

An anniversary with Greatest Hits

The theme of this anniversary is Greatest Hits : an ode to the tracks, moments, and nights that have shaped queer club culture. Think loud singalongs, but also new anthems that herald the future. The party takes place at Paradiso Amsterdam, one of the city's most famous venues.

Queer culture as a force in pop music

Over the span of 20 years, queer culture has shifted from something you had to read between the lines to something fully visible. From a glance or an outfit to a pop song with a double meaning: queer influences have become an undeniable force within pop and club culture. This party reflects on that development.
