How is the port working towards a sustainable future? Come to the fifth edition of the Amsterdam Seaport Days and visit ships and shipyards, take a cruise, or join a guided tour. Watch spectacular demonstrations on the water, such as by the Navy. There are activities for young and old. On June 18, the event kicks off with a Port Hackathon for MBO and HBO students and the annual Technology Promotion Event for students aged 8-16. This year, for the first time, we are organizing the Energy Experience in the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam, featuring, among other things, a race for electric karts.
The Harbour Festival is free and is the most important part of the Seaport Days. As a visitor, you can participate in many activities here. For example, you can sail along with Customs on a fast boat (RIB). Just like in 2025, there will again be demonstration tours on the water. The festival has a great atmosphere and there is plenty to do for young and old. There are performances and food trucks with food and drinks. On Saturday, the grounds are open until 8:00 PM. Check here for the full program.
Boulevard
This year, the festival starts on the IJ side, near Amsterdam Central Station. Ships are moored here that you can pay to sail on. You can also view the interiors of some of the ships. A special ferry to the Damen Shiprepair shipyard also departs from here.
Royal Netherlands Navy
The Royal Netherlands Navy is highly visible during the festival. They are organizing a 'Navy Roadshow' on the grounds and on the IJ. There is also a focus on old ships with a special history. This year, beautiful ships from the 19th and 20th centuries are coming to Amsterdam.
Cruise shipping
The port is important for river and sea cruises. During the Seaport Days, you can see how three large cruise ships arrive and depart. You can watch from a viewing platform on the Javakade, where the docking process of these large ships is explained.
The new harbor
During the festival, attention is also paid to the port of the future. Companies show how they are working on new energy and a better environment. They also demonstrate how they reuse materials (circular industry).
Working in the port
Are you looking for a job or do you want to know what opportunities are available? At the Port Festival, you will find vacancies from various port companies.
Guided tours
Guided tours are an important part of the Seaport Days. You can visit companies in the port area and see how they operate. For example, you get a look behind the scenes at the storage of cocoa, fuel, and other goods.
