Two worlds, one invisible connection

Breed Art Studios welcomes Ellen Rijk and Henny Schakenraad to an exhibition that revolves around what the eye does not see. Rijk—visual artist and former theatre maker—draws inspiration from the collective power of movement: the chain dance as a metaphor for togetherness, support, and joy. Schakenraad, on the other hand, explores the tension between opposites: freedom and limitation, chance and control, past and present. As different as their starting points are, their mutual resonance is strong.

An exhibition that asks questions

Together, they fill the space with assemblages, sculptures, and works on canvas and paper that invite the visitor to slow down and look more closely. Rijk freezes time to create intimacy; Schakenraad disrupts familiar images to unlock new meanings.
