From painting to installation and from video work to graphics
This edition of the Amstelveen Triennial shows the wealth of local art practices in all their diversity: from painting to installation and from video work to graphics. There is conceptual art, such as giant-sized envelopes, but also experiments with materials and traditional themes such as landscape and interior are represented. In terms of content, the choice also fell on works that show an involvement with subjects such as migration and language, such as a wooden suit of armor and a fist made of hard foam. In addition, there are several paintings that highlight the theme of trauma and the role of the subconscious, in both figurative and more abstract translations.

About the Triennale
The Amstelveen Triennial is a triennial event in which professional visual artists who live or work in Amstelveen are given a stage. This event has been organized by the Cobra Museum since 1998. In collaboration with Museum JAN and Platform C, there will be an educational side program in the form of guided tours and workshops that a number of participating artists will provide for secondary school students. A Triennial Talks in-depth discussion evening will also be organized on the topic: art in the public space of Amstelveen, in which various participants will talk about their work. The aim of the Triennial is to offer a professional platform to artists working or living in Amstelveen and to give the public an overview of the state of affairs in local visual arts. The exhibition provides a cross-section of art practice in Amstelveen.
