Cafe/Restaurant Lab-44
The place where (almost) anything is possible Lab-44 can be found on the North Sea Canal on the Zaanse Hembrug site. You can go to Lab 44 all year round to eat and drink. In addition to eating, you can also hold meetings, celebrate and more! In the summer you can sit on our terrace, where the atmosphere is so good and relaxed that you would even want to stay the night. In the winter it might be a bit adventurous to come to us, when it's dark and inclement, but it's so cozy inside with us...
Special menu
At Lab-44 you will always find something on the menu to eat your fingers at. Culinary enjoyment, pizzas from our Valoriani pizza oven; there is plenty of choice. At the bar or on the terrace you can enjoy Hoop en Breugem specialty beer from Zaandijk. Would you rather have a special G&T or a soft drink? They have enough drinks to quench your thirst! Are you coming with children? There is also a nice play corner and for lovers they serve delicious ice cream from Monte Pelmo!
History
The unique building required a unique interpretation, and we certainly succeeded. The name, Lab-44, refers to the original function and address (Middenweg 44). In the new setup, the origin is honored more than just in the name. Lab-44 has been developed into a multifunctional set-up 'for makers & eaters'.
The restaurant is located in the high middle section and on the entresol, there is a terrace on the south side and there are various food & drink related companies: a small brewery of HOOP, the workshop of Zaanse Sambal, a 'Paplab' where rice porridge is made developed in collaboration with Lassie and a workshop for the development of food & drink packaging design of the Amsterdam company Proud Design. There are also two meeting rooms available for resp. 15 and 40 visitors. With almost 100 seats inside and a terrace outside, Lab-44 has the ambition to become the new hotspot for both the Zaanstreek and Amsterdam.
