Kamerkoor AUK - Les Soldats Seront Troubadours
Les soldats seront troubadours
It is quite a challenge to write about the choral music of Philip Glass without using the word “challange”! The title of our new program, The Soldiers Will Be Troubadours, is borrowed from one of the three not-so-easy-to-perform (challenging!) pieces by the old master that we will sing. In addition to the strictly rhythmic works of Glass, we will also perform two atmospheric, romantic songs by his young compatriot Eric Barnum, two tragic works which lie easy on the ear from the interbellum period of the Frenchman Vincent d’Indy, and the famous Cantate de la paix by Darius Milhaud from 1937. We also have a few surprises up our sleeves! We gladly welcome you to our concert on May 25th!
