Music that grows out of friendship
Ton Felices and Víctor Carrasco grew up together and have been making music as a duo for almost 10 years. That personal bond is reflected in their playing. Their concert is a reflection on intimacy in art: two melodic lines, double bass and trumpet, that complement and challenge each other. The combination sounds simple, but is surprising precisely because of that.
Improvisation and mutual trust
As virtuoso improvisers, Felices and Carrasco dare to take risks. By listening closely to each other, they adapt every musical decision to what their intuition tells them. That makes every concert unique. You are listening to two musicians who know each other inside out and therefore constantly manage to surprise one another.
Original compositions and jazz classics in a new guise
The repertoire consists of original compositions and well-known jazz classics, rearranged for double bass and trumpet. This combination is unusual and gives the pieces a fresh sound. The concert takes place at the Voedselpark Amsterdam, part of the Grachtenfestival.
