Dutch jazz with viola, clarinet and guitar
Nina Rompa is a vocalist from Amsterdam. After years of playing classical violin, she studied jazz vocals at the Amsterdam Conservatory. Her music moves between classical and jazz: colorful, dreamy, and with a distinctive voice. In this concert, she presents the live premiere of her new album *Hoog* . Dutch lyrics form the common thread throughout.
Special instrumentation in the Zuiderkerk
The ensemble's instrumentation is striking: the warm sound of the viola, together with jazz guitar, clarinet, and double bass, forms the sound bed for Nina's voice. This combination challenges you to listen to composition and timbre differently. The Zuiderkerk in Amsterdam offers a fitting, acoustically rich setting for this.
