Belgian-Dutch jazz quartet with new repertoire
The Matthias van den Brande Trio presents a brand-new project especially for the Grachtenfestival. Pianist Bram de Looze joins the trio for this occasion, transforming it into a quartet. The repertoire has been written specifically for this lineup and brings together the cream of the Belgian and Dutch jazz scene on one stage.
Trio with international appeal
Matthias van den Brande founded the trio in 2021. Together with double bassist Tijs Klaassen and drummer Wouter Kühne, he forms a close-knit and energetic trio. Since then, the trio has played more than 50 concerts throughout Europe and released two albums that received rave reviews in the national and international press.

Bram de Looze is one of the most sought-after jazz pianists of his generation in Europe. He studied in New York with jazz legends and worked with leading musicians. For this project, he joins the trio and brings his own unique color and improvisational power.
