The Borodin Quartet celebrates its eightieth anniversary in 2025. Throughout all these years, the high quality of playing has been maintained, thanks in part to cellist Valentin Berlinsky, who was a member of the ensemble from its founding in 1945 until 2007. The big, powerful sound of the Borodin Quartet is reminiscent of the past. It reflects a long history and gives the quartet a unique and robust character. During this anniversary at the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, the First String Quartet by their Russian namesake will be performed, among other pieces.
