Alex Hitchcock & Ant Law - Same Moon

“Same Moon in the Same World” is a line from a novel by Haruki Murakami. It is also the title of the ambitious album by tenor saxophonist Alex Hitchcock and guitarist Ant Law. These super talents from British jazz recorded the album with star players from London, New York and Amsterdam. That led to a new band that builds on the sound of the album: energetic, melodic and balanced. The rising stars of British jazz spread their wings in the Bimhuis.

Same Moon

Same Moon draws inspiration from the idea that every person has a unique point of view from their own place in the world, but that we still share a lot together. For example, we all see the same moon in the sky. All four band members were featured on the album 'Same Moon in the Same World', alongside famous jazz musicians such as Linda May Han Oh, Kendrick Scott and Jeff Ballard.

'An incredible technique and harmonic skills combined with progressive creativity puts him at the forefront of new jazz in the UK' (BBC Jazz World about Alex Hitchcock). 'Ant Law is an innovator' (The Guardian).
