Towards a new composition for piano four hands and sampler. Composer Wilbert Bulsink is working on a captivating cycle for piano four hands and sampler. This project, titled Traces, combines live piano sounds with unique field recordings. Bulsink made these recordings during a journey through various European countries. In Splendor, you hear voices, animal sounds, and ambient sounds that he collected.

Sound exploration

The field recordings encompass a wide range of sounds. Think of barking dogs, church bells, the hum of engines, and even choral singing. These sounds come from countries such as Scandinavia, Ukraine, and Turkey. This creates a unique soundscape in which different cultures and landscapes come together.

Live Performance

Piano duo Rabbit&Haas, consisting of Hanke Scheffer and Tamara Laverman, brings the composition to life. They perform the piano parts and deliver a virtuos virtuoso performance. The combination of piano and sampler creates a layered listening experience in which you, as a visitor, can immerse yourself.

Unique Insight

During this event, you will get a unique glimpse into the creative process. Wilbert Bulsink explains his working method and shares the background of the Traces project. Tamara Laverman also presents the first sketches of her own composition for the same program. This offers an interactive and informative experience.
