Salve Susato Utopia
From city musician to media mogul: Tielman Susato made 16th-century Antwerp sing and swing. In his printing house 'Den Cromhorn', the finest polyphony rolled off the presses, including more than ninety chansons by Susato. Utopia Ensemble paints a portrait of this multi-talented artist with a selection of his own work and compositions printed in Antwerp by masters such as Josquin and Lassus. Highlight: Salve quae roseo serto, Susato's ode to the city that gave wings to his dreams.
