Four performances each feature a dancer opposite a musician. They improvise freely. This could be the start of special collaborations. The audience experiences a captivating performance. This event pairs emerging talents with experienced performing artists via dance platform WhyNot. Each artist has developed their own form of expression.
Meet the artists
Annelie Koning is a performer and singer from Amsterdam. Her work combines music and theater, focusing on the relationship between voice and poetry, including in the group BLIK. Miri Lee, known as an improviser and choreographer, has made an impression in the Amsterdam art world. She works with leading practitioners from various disciplines, from theater to visual arts. You will also hear cellist and composer Joshua Herwig. He won the Dutch Jazz Competition and Keep an Eye the Records. His music combines lyricism, groove, texture, and dynamics. Lea Ved is a choreographer and performer. Her raw and poetic work uses movement as a living language. This artist danced with the Royal Swedish Ballet and Nederlands Dans Theater.
Experiment along
Guitarist Raphael Vanoli created his own sound world by experimenting with electronics and unconventional playing techniques. He is part of the duo Knalpot. Tú Hoàng is a Vietnamese-Dutch choreographer who combines contemporary dance with martial arts, urban styles, and Taoist philosophy. Cellist and composer Amber Docters van Leeuwen studied at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and the Manhattan School of Music. Her work encompasses sound, theater, and documentary elements. Actress Klára Alexová has a background in dance theater and works with her own productions between the Czech Republic and the Netherlands.
