Old and cello in a green landscape
In Nieuw Land National Park in Lelystad, two very different instruments meet: the oud and the cello. Sufian Ararah plays the oud, a string instrument with Mediterranean roots. Plush Rebel takes care of the cello. Together, they create a sound you won't easily hear anywhere else.
Original compositions and shared arrangements
Both musicians come from different cultural backgrounds. During a previous collaboration, they discovered how much they have in common, but also how great the differences are. That tension forms the core of this concert. Sufian Ararah and Plush Rebel each bring their own compositions and collaborate on the arrangements.
A mix of Mediterranean, jazz, and classical influences
The music moves between Mediterranean, North African, jazz, Western classical, and pop/rock influences. Catchy rhythms and innovative playing techniques alternate. The result is a contemporary sound that connects different musical worlds.
