Cantigas Cappella Amsterdam, Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra & Sahand Sahebdivani
The medieval Cantigas de Santa Maria tell of the miracles of the Blessed Virgin Mary and are at the same time earthly in character. Cappella Amsterdam combines the Cantigas with traditional Arabo-Andalusian works that are still sung and played in the Maghreb to this day. The Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra provides an authentic performance on instruments used in the twelfth century. To be seen and heard at Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ.
