International schools
- International School Hilversum (ages 4 to 18) is a public IB World school offering the IB Primary, Middle Years and Diploma curricula. It has a notable library and an extensive extra-curricular programme.
- International Primary School Hilversum (ages 4 to 12) is a public International School offering the IB curriculum. This school also has a Parent Support Group of volunteer parents.
- International School Laren is set to open for school year 2018/2019, offering the IB Middle Years programme. At the time of opening, it will be based at Laar & Berg, a Dutch IB school which offers a bilingual MYP programme.
International community
The Gooi en Vechtstreek has a great selection of restaurants and cafés while nearby historical attractions include the Defence Line of Amsterdam sites at Naarden and Pampus Island, and the medieval Amsterdam Castle Muiderslot at Muiden. The River Vecht is also a major attraction and winds its way between Utrecht and Amsterdam. With its river banks home to historic country houses, fine restaurants and quaint tearooms, it makes for a wonderful setting for boat and cycle trips.
