Since the outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the Dutch government and municipal health services have released information in English on the current situation.
The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and the City of Amsterdam work closely with healthcare providers to minimise the impact of the disease in the Netherlands, and to communicate information regarding its status to residents and visitors.

If you are showing symptoms related to coronavirus you should stay home and make an appointment for a coronavirus test. Please call the national helpline on 0800-1202 or visit www.coronatest.nl (available in English, use the language selector if necessary). You will be assisted by the public health service (GGD) and given an appointment at a test location near you.
The Dutch coronavirus vaccination programme is continuing. It is not necessary to make an appointment in advance. Everyone aged 18 and over who had their last vaccination or a coronavirus infection at least 3 months ago can also have a booster vaccination without an appointment. An appointment is necessary for children under 12. Find out more about the vaccination programme.
Handy to know for international newcomers: if you don’t have any official ID of Dutch origin, it’s also recommended to take proof of your BSN number to your vaccination appointment, such as your health insurance card. This will help the staff members find you in their system and cut down on waiting time.
