Huis Marseille is the first photography museum in Amsterdam. Since September 1999, the museum has offered a rich and varied exhibition programme that changes on average four times a year. The exhibitions are shown in two seventeenth-century canal houses in which many original details are intact, such as lavish ceiling paintings, stucco work, marble and a red period room in the style of Louis XIV. The museum also has a photo library, a specialist photo book shop and a canal garden with a historic garden house.

Speciale audiotour ‘Samen zie je meer’ kan een blinde of slechtziende bezoeker samen met een begeleider door het museum lopen. Voor bezoekers die geen trappen kunnen lopen, is de zogenoemde CoVisit-tour beschikbaar. Vanaf een speciaal ingerichte plek maken deze bezoekers een virtuele tour door het museum, terwijl hun begeleider een rondgang door het monument maakt.

Ons' Lieve Heer op Solder is one of the oldest and most special museums in Amsterdam. Discover a rare, well-preserved canal house from the Golden Age. Narrow corridors and stairs lead to historically furnished living areas, kitchens and cupboards and end in what is literally the highlight of the museum: a complete church in the attic.

Museum Van Loon | Historisch huis in Amsterdam

Museum Van Loon, the former house of the regent Van Loon family, is situated in the heart of the Amsterdam Canals. Willem van Loon was in 1602 co-founder of the Dutch East Indian Company. The house was designed in 1672 by architect Adriaen Dortsman. The first inhabitant of the house was Ferdinand Bol, a student of the famous painter Rembrandt. In the rooms one finds beautiful portraits, impressive pieces of furniture and silver and porcelain from different centuries.
