Pianist Ivan Petrenko at the Dufay House Amsterdam
Ukrainian pianist Ivan Petrenko has been building an international career early on. He has won prizes at competitions in Poland, Switzerland, and Germany and has performed at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and the Konzerthaus Berlin. A program from lyric to drama
The program brings together contrasting facets of the piano literature. Chopin's Fourth Ballade combines lyricism with dramatic tension. Rachmaninoff's Prelude reveals a restrained, inner character. In Shostakovich's Prelude and Fugue , clarity and musical complexity come together.
Painting exhibition as a colorful finale
The concert concludes with Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition : a series of 10 musical paintings, each with its own character, atmosphere, and color. The piece is one of the most evocative works in the piano repertoire. Are you interested in this concert? Use the link on this page for tickets.
