In this monumental building in the heart of Amsterdam, which is now a museum, Rembrandt lived and worked between 1639 and 1658. On the basis of an inventory from the seventeenth century, the house has been carefully redecorated with furniture, art and objects from that time. Visit Rembrandt's studio, the old kitchen and living room and imagine yourself in the seventeenth century.

Exhibitions

The Rembrandt House has been officially a museum since 1911 and holds an almost complete collection of etchings by Rembrandt. These are regularly shown in changing exhibitions in the modern museum wing. Here you can discover work by Rembrandt himself, his predecessors, contemporaries and pupils. In addition, you regularly see work by contemporary artists who have been inspired by Rembrandt's work.
