How far in advance can I book a timeslot ticket?

You can book a timeslot ticket on the day itself, or up to two months in advance upon availability.

How many timeslot tickets can I book?

You can book timeslot tickets for multiple visitors (up to 10 people). Each person must have a valid City Card. For larger groups we advise that you contact the Van Gogh Museum directly.

Do I need a City Card to book a childrens timeslot?

Yes, booking a timeslot for children also requires a valid City Card. If your child does not have a City Card they can book a separate ticket through the Van Gogh Museum website.

Can I book timeslot tickets for other City Card holders?

Yes. This is possible because timeslot tickets are not personalised. However, it is important that each person has a valid City Card, as you will need to enter the unique Card ID for each time slot ticket.

Can I show my timeslot ticket on my smartphone?

Yes, that is possible. You do not need to bring a printed version of your timeslot ticket to the museum.

Why are there no timeslot tickets available for a specific date?

During certain times and days there is a chance that some timeslots may be booked.

Do I also need to book a timeslot ticket for other museums?

It is necessary to book a timeslot for the following museums:

Can I visit the Van Gogh Museum without a timeslot ticket?

Unfortunately this is not possible. You need to book a timeslot ticket to visit the Van Gogh Museum.

What time do I have to be at the Van Gogh Museum if I have a timeslot for a certain time?

You just need to make sure you arrive at the Van Gogh Museum at the start of your timeslot.

My I amsterdam City Card has expired but I have a timeslot ticket for the Van Gogh Museum.

Unfortunately a valid City Card is necessary to visit the Van Gogh Museum.

I booked a timeslot ticket but was unable to make it at that time. Can I still use the ticket to visit the museum?

No, your timeslot ticket is only valid on the date and time of entry you selected.

I do not want to visit the Van Gogh Museum at the times offered during the booking process. Can I visit at other times?

The system checks which timeslots have availability on your preferred date. At certain times there may be no or little space available. It is not possible to visit the museum without a time slot ticket.

No, unfortunately this is not possible. It is possible to book a free timeslot ticket with your City Card.

I booked a timeslot ticket, but I did not receive the ticket. What do I need to do?

I have an invalid barcode or I get an error message during the booking process. What should I do?

Check that you have entered the correct unique order number or Card ID. The Card ID is shown below the barcode on the card. Still not working? Send an email to citycard@iamsterdam.com.
