Discover the Haarlemmermeerpolder after the draining
Discover the fascinating story of the draining of the Haarlemmermeer in the Cruquius Museum. In the steam pumping station De Cruquius – a top 100 national monument – you can marvel at the power of the 19th century steam engine that defeated the 'Waterwolf'. In the new Cruquius pavilion you can wander past large and small stories from the history of the Haarlemmermeerpolder after the draining. Here you can discover how pioneers developed the new land Haarlemmermeer into the dynamic region it is today, using special objects, photos, films and an interactive water map.
