How can you visit ARTIS Amsterdam Royal Zoo with your City Card?

You do not need to make a reservation in advance to visit ARTIS Amsterdam Royal Zoo with your City Card. You can have your City Card scanned at the entrance. Make sure your City Card is valid at the time of your visit.

Visit safely

People can have a relaxing, safe and educational visit to the park. ARTIS expressly requests visitors not to come by car, but by bicycle, on foot or by public transport.

About ARTIS Zoo:

Visit ARTIS-Park and celebrate the reopening of the ARTIS Aquarium this summer. Dive into the fascinating underwater world of the ARTIS Aquarium and discover ecosystems up close. Admire colorful coral reefs, meet special fish and take a look under the water surface of the Amsterdam canal. Learn more about marine life and fresh water and be surprised by the stories behind the aquariums.

ARTIS Park is open every Saturday evening from July 11 to August 29, with every hour something special to experience until the sun goes down. A varied program full of music, activities and special encounters with nature and culture. Discover the park in a unique evening atmosphere and experience ARTIS in a different way.

Imagine yourself in Madagascar at the renovated Kerbert terrace (former lion enclosure) and admire how the ring-tailed lemurs, red varias and Madagascar ray turtles live together.

Visit the Planetarium for a journey through space (admission included). Discover stars and planets and marvel at our place in the universe. Go in search of water in the solar system and beyond, and find out if our blue planet is the only place where you can splash around! Where does the water on Earth come from, and where else can you find it? Explore it at the ARTIS Planetarium.

Stroll through the historic city park, admire the monumental buildings and explore the botanical garden, and take a relaxing break at one of the vegetarian restaurants.

Check the daily schedule for zookeeper presentations, where you can learn more about jaguars, Asian elephants, and many other animals. Whether you want to discover, learn, or care for nature, you can do it all at ARTIS.
