Fishing
Step into the rich history of the Zuiderzee and discover how shipping has shaped the lives of people and the environment.
This temporary exhibition with many treasures from the museum's rich collection takes you to the world of shipyards, the work on board fishing and cargo ships and the activities on shore. Historical stories come to life through special objects, including ship models, work clothes and personal utensils. And there is more! Sustainable fisherman Hendrik Kramer takes a contemporary look at tradition and innovation in fishing. His story connects the past with the future and shows how the bond between people, work and water continues to exist.
Let yourself be carried away by a timeless story of craftsmanship, resilience and connectedness.
