  • After leaving Moooi Amsterdam turn right into Westerstraat. At Café Nol turn right into Eerste Anjeliersdwarsstraat and then immediately left into Anjeliersstraat. Continue to the end of the street and turn right. Cross the Prinsengracht and continue straight ahead into Prinsenstraat. Cross Keizersgracht. Before you reach Herengracht you’ll see Property of… on the left.

  • Cross the Herengracht and continue straight ahead to the end of Blauwburgwal, cross the bridge, then on the other side of the canal turn right along the Singel. You’ll see OODE on your left just after Episode.

  • At Café van Zuylen, turn left into Torensteeg. Take an immediate right onto Spuistraat. Cross over at the crossing and continue along Spuistraat. You’ll find X BANK on your right.
  • When you leave X BANK, continue along Spuistraat and take the first left into the Paleissstraat. This will take you into the Nine Streets area. Cross over four canals until you can’t go any further, then turn left along the Prinsengracht. Keep going until you reach the ice cream shop IJscuypje, then turn right along Elandsgracht. Galerie Rob Koudijs is on the right, opposite the playground.

  • Go back to the canal and turn right along the Prinsengracht. Take the first bridge on the left to cross over the canal. Turn right and carry on along the Prinsengracht. The Andaz Hotel is on the left, with two big flags above the entrance.

  • Go back along the Prinsengracht past the Andaz Hotel, and turn right along Runstraat, which will become Huidenstraat. Continue on Huidenstraat until you reach Singel. Take a right onto Singel, then your first left onto Spui and you'll see ByAMFI to your left. 
  • Carry on past Esprit on the left and The Seafood Bar on the right, cross over the Kalverstraat shopping street, then cross over the Rokin and turn left. Take the first right past the statue of Queen Wilhelmina on a horse into Langebrugsteeg, then turn left along Nes. Gallerie Ra is on the left opposite Tobacco Theater.
  • Continue along Nes and turn right at the Bierfabriek into Sint Barberenstraat. Cross the Makelaarsbruggetje footbridge and turn left onto Oudezijds Voorburgwal. Take an immediate right into Sint Agnietenstraat. Cross the bridge and you’ll find Wonderwood on the left.

  • Continue straight ahead on Rusland and turn right at Kloveniersburgwal. At the end of Kloveniersburgwal turn left over a bridge called the Aluminiumbrug. Go straight on along Staalstraat, and you’ll see Hôtel Droog at the end of the street on the left.

  • Go back to the Aluminiumbrug and cross over the canal, then turn left into Nieuwe Doelenstraat. Go past Café De Jaren and De L’Europe. Cross over at the junction and turn left past the Munttoren tower along Vijzelstraat. At Herengracht, cross over the bridge then turn right along the canal. Take the first left into Nieuwe Spiegelstraat. Turn left at Kerkstraat, and matter .of material is just around the corner.
  • Nieuwe Spiegelstraat is lined with galleries – not all in the Dutch Design theme, but still well worth stopping for a look.
  • Continue in the same direction along the Nieuwe Spiegelstraat until you reach the Rijksmuseum, walk through the beautiful passage underneath the Rijksmuseum and walk past the gardens until you see the Museumshop on your right-hand side. Turn right, walk around the shop and into the Paulus Potterstraat and take a left here. After a few hundred meters you'll find the Stedelijk Museum on your left-hand side. Visit BASE for the icing on the cake of Dutch Design.
