Scaling up with another €6.5 million for 30MHz data platform

Amsterdam scale-up 30MHz, a data platform for the agricultural sector, has secured series-B funding of €6.5 million. 30MHz’s platform analyses data from monitoring devices to help farmers remotely supervise and manage their fields. Rubio Impact Ventures led the latest funding round.

Amsterdam’s Amberscript raises €8.65 million for AI-led transcription

Amsterdam-based audio transcription startup Amberscript has raised $10 million (approximately €8.65 million) in its Series A round of funding. The company builds SaaS solutions that use AI to transform audio into text and has recently announced its latest innovation, AI subtitle formatting. This supports the automatic transformation of video transcripts into text that is formatted into readable subtitles – processed to a high standard and with no manual input. The investment round was led by Endeit Capital, a German-Dutch growth capital firm founded by former executives of media company Endemol.

€2 million for Cheflix – the Netflix for star chefs

Cheflix is an Amsterdam-based streaming platform that has been providing masterclasses from top Dutch chefs and experts since launching in January 2021. Coronavirus-related restrictions prompted tens of thousands of people to subscribe in a short time and the startup has now raised €2 million in a fresh round of funding. Cheflix aims to accelerate its international growth and produce new masterclasses featuring well-known star chefs from around the world.

New funding for HealthTech Clear’s diabetes management tool

HealthTech startup Clear Health has secured €1.1 million in a fresh round of funding, with investors including Mustard Seed Maze and Dutch digital health VC firm Healthy.Capital. The company provides a chip-implanted arm patch and app for people living with type 2 diabetes. These measure blood glucose levels in real time to analyse individual responses to food and can then provide customised advice. After recent research in the Netherlands has shown that Clear’s programme helps reduce symptoms of type 2 diabetes, the company is now in talks with Dutch insurers to have the costs of the programme reimbursed to its users.

€700.000 for Decodata innovation in interior design market

A group of angel investors are backing B2B startup Decodata with €700,000 in its first round of funding. The company offers a simplified solution for organising product data within the interior design market and has gathered and structured data for more than 150,000 products from a wide range of brands.

Hadrian raises €2.5 million to offer a hacker’s view on cybersecurity

Cybersecurity startup Hadrian, which uses cloud technology and machine learning to improve the digital security of global organisations, has raised an initial €2.5 million in pre-seed funding. The investment round was led by San Francisco-based Village Global and Amsterdam-based Slimmer AI, along with a group of international angel investors and experts.

Sustainable kebabs prove appetising for Dutch investment firm

Impact investment fund is putting its money where its mouth is with €1 million of funding for Karma Kebab, a startup producing vegetable kebabs. The company was born in 2018 when founder and chef Pascal Labrie was asked to develop a sustainable snack for the Lowlands music festival. The result was a 100% plant-based kebab, made from celeriac and grains grown in the Netherlands. The funding will be put towards expanding the product in the Netherlands and rolling out a catering concept.

Amsterdam-based VC firm raises second fund of €120 million

Venture capital firm Keen Venture Partners has closed its second fund at €120 million. The company invests in European tech scale-ups at the Series A and B stage, with their first fund investing in scale-ups including Beekeeper, Crisp, Farewill and Rescale. The new funding comes from new and existing investors including the European Investment Fund and KPN Ventures, and several well-known tech entrepreneurs including the founders of JustEat, Adyen, and TomTom.

Overstory secures €3.3 million from European and US investors

Overstory, a platform that uses AI to prevent forest fires, deforestation and power outages, has announced it has closed a $3.9 million (approximately €3.3 million) seed+ round. The new funding will enable Overstory to continue building its SaaS platform, which uses AI to monitor and analyse high-resolution satellite imagery to track trees and plants, at a global scale and in real time. The round was led by CapitalT and Moxxie Ventures; Amsterdam-based VC CapitalT invests in tech companies with a focus on AI, while Moxxie Ventures is an American early-stage fund.

Global 500 invests in sustainable fashion startup Renoon

Amsterdam-based startup Renoon has secured a $1 million (€890,000) investment from US venture capital firm 500 Global. Essentially a search engine for sustainable fashion, the Renoon app gathers hundreds of different brands, ranking them on factors ranging from environmental protection to human wellbeing and innovation. Users can then search for and choose clothing and other fashion products matching their personal values and style. 

€1.1 million for challenger brand SUNT’s ‘banana factory’

Innovative Amsterdam startup SUNT is a step closer to realising its ambition of setting up a ‘banana factory’ and becoming a supplier of high-quality puree. Brave New Food Investments, along with the Dutch DOEN Foundation and Rabobank, are investing €1.1 million in the company to expand its team and its banana imperium. SUNT launched in 2019 with sustainable banana bread, made from bananas which would otherwise have been dumped by South American growers. They now want to tackle the issue closer to home and save the millions of bananas discarded annually in European ports for cosmetic reasons. The banana is the most wasted fruit in the world, and by tackling this waste, SUNT aims to lower the costs of banana importers, reduce the climate impact and improve the position of growers.

PressPage secures another €2 million to streamline operations 

Commstech platform PressPage announced that it has raised €2 million in its latest round of funding. The capital comes via an additional investment from the company’s existing investor, Capital Mills, as well as management participation. PressPage provides a corporate communications platform and will use the funding to automate parts of its external communication workflow.  

Eneco to boost Rockstart Energy Fund with €3.75 million

Amsterdam- based Rockstart is an accelerator-VC supporting companies across the three areas of AgriFood, Energy and Emerging Tech. Dutch energy giant Eneco is investing in the Rockstart Energy fund which supports startups working towards  renewable, clean and, low carbon energy solutions. Rockstart offers a 5-month accelerator programme as well as providing investment funding
