Amsterdam’s tech and startup communities make it easy for like-minded founders and tech talent to connect. Many offer free training, mentorship, workshops, conferences, and meetups.

AI, Data Science & Emerging Tech

AI Builders: Aimed to be a go‑to network for AI founders and builders, offering resources, events and connections to scale AI‑powered products 

AI Foundry: A founder‑focused community supporting AI startups and innovators through networking, mentorship, and collaboration. Good for those building AI products and looking for like‑minded peers and support.

Climate Tech: A community of climate‑tech innovators and experts who come together through events, roundtables, and discussions to exchange insights, tackle challenges, and celebrate successes in the sector.

ClimateHack: A community-driven platform hosting hackathons and events that inspire entrepreneurs and innovators to collaborate on creative solutions for pressing environmental challenges.

Equals offers a hub (the “Clubhouse” in Amsterdam) and community space for women in tech and allied professionals. As a member, you join a network of ambitious individuals aiming to support each other’s growth, build connections, and access resources for career and personal development.

Female Ventures: A not‑for‑profit network supporting women at different career stages — from corporate roles to startups and entrepreneurship. It organises community events, mentoring, and networking opportunities across multiple Dutch cities.

FEM-START: An educational and support platform for ambitious female entrepreneurs. Through online courses, mentoring, and events, it helps women build funding readiness, refine pitches, and scale their ventures — bridging the funding gap many face when starting a business.

Ladies that UX Amsterdam: An inclusive community (open to all genders) for UX and tech professionals — particularly supportive of women. Ladies that UX Amsterdam organises low‑pressure meetups, offering a relaxed environment to connect and share experiences.

Omek: A global platform for bicultural professionals — particularly from the African diaspora — offering networking, career growth opportunities, events, and access to job markets. Omek aims to connect diverse talent with companies, creating inclusive career pathways.

PyLadies Amsterdam: A local chapter of the global PyLadies network. PyLadies Amsterdam offers a safe, inclusive space for women, non‑binary and marginalised‑gender individuals to learn Python, share knowledge, attend workshops, and grow as coders — from beginners to experienced developers.

SheSharp: A non-profit aiming to make tech more accessible and inclusive. SheSharp supports women and non‑binary individuals — especially from under-represented backgrounds — offering community events, mentorship programs, career support, and a global Slack network.

Entrepreneur Communities & Networks

Amsterdam Founders Club: A private‑membership club for ambitious entrepreneurs, hosting monthly “Growth Nights” for founders, solopreneurs, and aspiring startup‑owners. Through peer-led sessions, networking and shared insights, members get to learn and grow their ventures together.

Dutch Startup Association’s interactive community connects experienced and early-stage entrepreneurs with diverse skills. It offers events, discussions, and webinars on topics like grants, investor outreach, and pitch decks, while providing support on Diversity & Inclusion. 

FoundersMesh: A founder‑focused meetup series organising events and networking nights aimed at building connections, sharing ideas and helping startups find partners or funding. Great if you want a “social + investor/startup” mix, rather than formal accelerator structure.

Founders Running Club: Weekly running and networking meetups for founders, investors, operators and creators. Beginner‑friendly, open to many backgrounds, offering a relaxed space to connect beyond formal networking.

Sessions Community, a collective of leaders embracing “Growth Through Vulnerability”, connects salespersons, B2B marketers, and tech founders through interactive roundtables that foster authentic connections, shared learning, and both personal and professional growth. 

Sigma Squared unites a global network of exceptionally driven entrepreneurs under 26 focused on building impactful ventures. The fellowship gives access to peer founders, mentors & investors, a global alumni network, and invite‑only events including their annual Global Summit.

Amsterdam InChange, formerly Amsterdam Smart City, is an open‑innovation platform for Amsterdam and beyond. It brings together governments, knowledge institutions, social organisations, and companies to co‑create a better future. Through a community of over 10,000 change‑makers, it facilitates sharing of projects, events and ideas — offering a space for collaboration on urban innovation, sustainability, mobility, and societal challenges. 

Developer Meetups & Communities

AmsterdamJS: Kicking off in 2010, AmsterdamJS proudly calls itself“the largest and longest-running JavaScript meetup in town.”From meetups to a full-blown conference, they cover all things JavaScript for devs who love to code, share, and learn.

Amsterdam PHP: This English-speaking community brings PHP developers together across Amsterdam. Their goal: grow the local network, find new talent, and share knowledge and resources.

Appsterdam: Run by volunteers and fueled by passion, Appsterdam supports app makers with events, mentorship, and a network of designers, marketers, developers, and other tech enthusiasts. It’s a hub for anyone building cool apps in Amsterdam and beyond.

Hackers & Founders Amsterdam:  Claiming the title of“the biggest community of tech entrepreneurs and developers in the Netherlands,”Hackers & Founders hosts monthly meetups and offers a buzzing co-working space,The Hacker Building.
