Sandy Hill

Surf pioneers

Sandy Hill was founded in 1966 (although there was already another beach club at this location before that) and has since been mentioned in the same breath as Zandvoort's surfing culture. The founder of this café, who once brought a surfboard from California and braved the Dutch waves with it, is even known as Zandvoort's first surfer. Today, (kite)surfers can still use the beach club's lockers to safely store their surfing gear before enjoying a drink on the beach beds.
