Café Gruter
Café Gruter on the Willemsparkweg has been a local watering hole for the after work crowd for years.
It is always busy; and rather informal with a simple and somewhat dingy interior
of wooden tables and chairs, big sun lounge and ‘culture posters’ on the walls.
No fashionable drinks or cocktail bar at Gruter—the café is completely
traditional. It is a genuine ‘Oud-Zuid’ (Old South district) pub: with a crowd
of estate agents, media people, lawyers and academics. When the weather is nice,
everybody sits outside on the big terrace with beer and snacks.
