Brazilian singer-songwriter Rodrigo Amarante comes solo to the Small Hall of the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. He is probably best known to the general public for the title song he wrote and sang for the successful Netflix series 'Narcos'. In addition, he has made an impression worldwide in the past ten years with two albums, 'Cavalo' (2014) and 'Drama' (2021). He has done much more: collaborations with Norah Jones and Gilberto Gil, among others, and he is a member of various bands, such as Orquestra Imperial and Los Hermanos.

You might already know Rodrigo Amarante. Perhaps you've heard Tuyo, the theme song for Netflix's Narcos, or the album Little Joy, recorded with Fab Moretti and Binki Shapiro. Rodrigo Amarante's second solo album, Drama, is a departure from his debut. Drama is intentionally caricatural, cinematic, and elusive, unfolding like a vivid narrative. The album journeys from a foreboding opener, through a love story on the dance floor, an ode to friendship, to a track reminiscent of Astrud Gilberto's prime.
