Flamenco Biennale Nederland

The Flamenco Biennale Netherlands is an international performing arts festival with one of Europes oldest art forms, flamenco, at its heart. Since 2006, it has focussed on the latest developments in the genre and offers a sample of contemporary flamenco art, with performances and concerts where the tradition enters into exciting alliances and cross-pollinations with contemporary dance and jazz, classical, baroque, and oriental music. In 2025, the Flamenco Biennial will celebrate its 20th anniversary! The festival will mark its tenth edition with rebellious pioneers, living flamenco legends and the latest generation of musicians and dancers, from 8 to 26 October in nine cities across the Netherlands.

A contemporary melting pot

The festival presents flamenco - mainly through its own creations and (co)productions - as a beautiful hybrid, a contemporary melting pot, as it once came into existence. As an art form that stands firmly in this time. The Flamenco Biennale Netherlands steps with great ambition and pleasure right through and beyond the boundaries of the genre. It brings flamenco to the cutting edge. Rhythms that stir, touch and disrupt, with headstrong, visionary makers, big stars and young up-and-coming talent.
