Imagine - Summer Festival of the Muziekpakhuis

Imagine

That is the theme of the summer festival of the Muziekpakhuis, the festive conclusion of the season that this time takes place in Podium Mozaïek. The title Imagine is not only a reference to the iconic song by John Lennon but is also intended as a source of inspiration for the many program components.

Imagine if we all made music together, the world would be a better place!

For this festival edition, we have chosen to collaborate with the Amsterdam Marmoucha Orchestra.

For the closing act of the festival, the teachers join forces with this top orchestra.

Not only can you enjoy the many performances by students of the Muziekpakhuis, accompanied or not by the teacher's band or a real string quartet, but everyone can also actively participate in one of the many workshops on the programme!

What can you expect?

15:00-22:00 Music Festival! - concerts. Come enjoy many performances at three locations in the theater, and outside.

15:00 Opening: “Wonderwall” - by students and visitors. Sing and play along with “Wonderwall by Oasis” together with guitar, cello and singing students.

16:30 Work it out! - guitar and percussion workshops. Join in! Everyone welcome. No registration required.

17:40 Workshop by members of the Marmoucha Orchestra. Play along with the fascinating rhythms from North Africa and the Middle East.

19:30 Imaginate Salsaband - dance along. Come dance to the music of a fantastic live latin band.

20:00 Spotlight on you! - open stage. Do you live nearby and have a cool act? Come play on the open stage!

21:00 Marmoucha Orchestra with Muziekpakhuis teachers, summer festival edition. Music from the cultural wealth of the SWANA region (Southwest Asia & North Africa) and the Mediterranean region. (Register for the preparatory workshops).
