Special history

Vogeldorp was established in 1918 and was the first garden village in Amsterdam. The insight that cleanliness could help prevent infectious diseases prompted the Amsterdam city council to build 21 bathhouses in the city. The bathhouse in Vogeldorp, now the museum, was built in the shape of a farmhouse to emphasize the rural character of Noord.

The changing exhibitions show recent innovations as well as developments in the past and various aspects of history, residents and culture.
