The neighbourhoods we visit during this tour, are part of the Jewish Historical Quarter. The route includes, among others, the famous Waterlooplein flea market and Portuguese synagogue. If you wish, a visit to this impressive, authentic building can be added to the tour. The tour includes the Hollandsche Schouwburg WWII memorial and several other Holocaust memorial spots as well.

To develop this tour, your guide Eva gathered family stories from Amsterdam’s city archives and family attics. Her own family stories turned out to be fascinating illustrations to the general history of Jews in Amsterdam.
There’s a proper balance between long term history stories and World War II stories. Depending on your interests, the tour takes 2,5 hours minimum. In case you have a broader or deeper interest, please let us know and we can extend the tour to more hours.
