Authentic food from a mom's fridge
Mama's Koelkast, which means Mama's Fridge, helps ambitious women to become independent food entrepreneurs. The company works with over 80 mothers to prepare authentic dishes and family recipes from over 25 cultures. Head to their store in the Jordaan to find several refrigerators with takeaway meals, drinks, snacks and patisserie. Each fridge is a micro-enterprise with one associated cooking mother. You can choose from 3 to 5 world cuisines daily.
Preloved clothing store with an exchange system
Bring clothes you no longer wear and get a discount on new items in the form of a certain amount of swaps for each item. The more stylish and wearable the clothes you bring, the more swaps you get. This way, the store can maintain high quality and allow you to pick from a wide range of clothes and accessories.
Statement streetwear designed by creative young people
Rambler offers talented young people who can use extra support the opportunity to develop themselves creatively. Here, they have the unique opportunity to design, make and sell their very own streetwear collections. Check out their work and meet the makers in the store on the Zeedijk.
Brouwerij De Prael
All about beer and people
De Prael's craft beer is made by people who struggle to find a job elsewhere. In the tasting room, in one of the oldest areas in the city, craft beers can be tasted while enjoying delicious food and snacks. In addition, you can buy De Prael's regular and seasonal beers in the shop around the corner to gift or enjoy at home. Little tip: don't miss out on the brewery and tasting room in the Houthavens, either.
Home decor & textile accesories handmade by unique Amsterdammers
Where else do you buy a table that no one else has? Or a hand-cast tableware, of which no piece is the same? Here! This shop sells furniture and accessories made in Cordaan's social studio. People with intellectual disabilities or mental problems can express their creativity and skills by making one-of-a-kind items. Unique, imaginative and memorable.
Museum van de Geest
An authentic and inclusive museum exhibiting outsider art
Museum van de Geest, Dutch for 'Museum of the Mind', presents rotating exhibitions by self-taught artists on the outside of the art world and often society itself. Some artists are affiliated with a care institution or have a psychological disability. You can explore the imaginative inner worlds of these unique artists through unconventional, surprising art.

LENA the fashion library
Borrow or buy clothes
LENA, the first clothing library in the Netherlands, was created in 2014 to make fashion fun for everyone along the supply chain. It has already lent about 25,000 items. LENA's entire collection can be rented or purchased. By borrowing stylish and durable clothes instead of buying fast-fashion items, you can help reduce the fashion industry's negative environmental impact. In LENA's slow-working project, people with burnout get an inspiring place to recover at their own pace.
