Alexander Zhembrovskyy is a ballet dancer from Ukraine. He studied at the State School of Choreography in his hometown and dreamed of a career in the West from a young age; he longed for a greater variety of ballet repertoire and styles.
Since 2005 he has been a second soloist with the Dutch National Ballet. Before that he danced with the National Theatre for Opera and Ballet in Ukraine, the Classical Ballet Theatre in Saint Petersburg, the Bavarian State Ballet in Germany and the National Theatre for Opera and Ballet in Slovenia. Dance Europe magazine nominated him as 'outstanding dancer of the year 2010' for his performance in Hans van Manen's Sarcasmen.
Alexander combines his work at Het Nationale Ballet with running his own ballet and dance school in Amsterdam.
