Free Form

'Freie Form' investigates who creates the dance: the dancer or the choreographer? The performance also explores how memories can live in bodies, objects, costumes and sound. By reusing objects and costumes from previous performances, such as the silver cloth from Pink & Orange (2020) and a dress from Antropomorf from 26 years ago, Vanruxt brings them back to life.

Samantha van Wissen and Igor Shyshko

The dancers in 'Freie Form' are Samantha van Wissen and Igor Shyshko. Van Wissen was formed by her years with dance company Rosas and choreographer Thomas Hauert. Shyshko integrates memories from Belarusian folklore and classical ballet. Also on stage is mezzo-soprano Els Mondelaers, with whom Vanrunxt has worked regularly. Mondelears sings music by Morton Feldman and Yoko Ono in 'Freie Form'.
