Skeleton pantsula

The Soweto Skeleton Movers take the audience on a joyful and overwhelming mix of singing, street scenes, captivating visuals and their 'skeleton pantsula', a mix of traditional South African streetdance (Pantsula) and 'bone breaking'. All this is supported by a contemporary soundtrack with melodic Afrohouse tunes and pumping Amapiano beats. Welcome to Soweto!

Unbreakable is a promising collaboration between Rotterdam choreographer Lloyd Marengo, London theatre director Jonzi D and the five explosively energetic dancers of Soweto Skeleton Movers, who have long since outgrown their modest status as street performers and perform worldwide.

Lloydscompany

Under the flag of Rotterdam's Lloydscompany, dancers, emerging urban makers and the underground battle scene come together. Lloyd Marengo is one of the founders of the Hiphophuis, he worked with Scapino Ballet and Conny Janssen Danst, among others. Lloyd was awarded the Golden Swan in September 2022 for his great and unique contribution to dance in the Netherlands and his role as a pioneer for the hip-hop community.
