Masterclass Eva-Maria Westbroek
Eva-Maria Westbroek is the greatest Dutch opera star of the past decades. She was a prima donna assoluta at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. In the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the soprano will pass on her experience to the youngest generation of singers.

The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra asked her to be artist in residence. She shone in many leading roles in the Concertgebouw, during concertante operas in the Saturday Matinee. Her interpretation of the title role in Lady Macbeth from Mtensk at our National Opera was sensational and controversial; anyone who was there will never forget Eva-Maria Westbroek.
Five Young Great Singers
Five different young singers will present themselves. You will hear opera arias and duets by Mozart, Rossini and Verdi. The young talents are the international opera stars of tomorrow. The week prior to this masterclass they will stay at the Berkenrode estate. They have had lessons from Westbroek for a week. This festive evening is the conclusion and highlight of Berkenrode, the biennial masterclass of the Grote Zangers Foundation.
