Mikhail Bulgakov

Mikhail Bulgakov (1891 - 1940) was a dramatist and writer, born into a religious family in Kiev. He was very successful with his career at the Moscow Arts Theater, until he was 'cancelled' because he was publishing non-Soviet sympathetic literature. As a result, very little of his work was ultimately published.

He wrote 'Bulgakov's revenge' in secret, out of frustration at how he was limited in his creative process.
