Hidden behind the stalls on Amsterdam’s most famous street market, there’s a new bakery-café that is well worth seeking out. Owned by an international trio, including a baker from Italy, a Peru-trained chef from Brazil, and a store manager from South Africa, the focus is on French-style bread and pastry. The locally-roasted Stooker coffee is made with Brazilian beans, the steak sandwiches are excellent even by the most exacting meat snob’s standards and the bread has that perfect balance between crunchy and chewy.
