Markt Centraal

Markt Centraal is the first new resident of the Central Market Hall at the Food Center Amsterdam, a huge monument hidden in the heart of the city. Food has been arriving here since 1934 and finding its way through Amsterdam.
For the neighbourhood and anyone who is curious
For the past twenty years, the Central Market Hall has been empty and quiet. But in the next few years it will rise again to become the lively beacon of a renewed Food Center and a new residential area. Until then, the doors will be left ajar for all neighbours and other curious people.
Market Meal and Market Noise
Starting with the weekly neighbourhood meal Markt Maal (market meal) on Sundays: honest food from a neighbourhood team led by chef Maarten. With local ingredients and accompanied by live music. And on Friday's Markt Kabaal (market noise), local bands play on various stages in this beautiful building.
The Market Central Express
Because Markt Centraal is enclosed by a fence, a special train - the Markt Centraal Express - will pick you up safely at the gate of the Food Center Amsterdam on Jan van Galenstraat. You will also be brought back when you leave. To know you are coming, it is necessary to make reservations for all meals and activities via the agenda on the website.
Markt Centraal is there for everyone. Follow Markt Centraal on Instagram as well.
