Harriet Krijgh & Friends - Bach, Arenski en Dohnányi
Dutch cellist Harriet Krijgh likes to gather friends around her to make music. This concert is a chamber music party in the Kleine Zaal of the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. It opens with Bach's grandiose 'Third Suite' for cello solo. Works by Arenski and Dohnányi are also on the program.

Harriet Krijgh & Friends
Dutch cellist, who studied in Vienna and at the German Kronberg Akademie, has her own festival in Burg Feistritz, Austria: 'Harriet & Friends'. Once again, she has a group of musician friends with her for an evening of chamber music in the Kleine Zaal, where she first performed in 2009. Krijgh's fiery temperament and the passionate impulse of her playing style are widely praised. The music of Bach, Arensky and Dohnányi thrives on such musicality.
Bach, Arensky and Dohnányi
Not only do the keys—two times C major plus its relative key A minor—create a connection within this program, but the instrumentation also forms a cohesive unit. Naturally, the cello takes centre stage in Bach's Grand Third Suite for Solo Cello. The unusual instrumentation of Arensky's Second String Quartet, featuring violin, viola, and two cellos, offers a particularly cellistic tribute to Tchaikovsky. Finally, Harriet Krijgh's cello plays a prominent role right from the first arpeggios in Dohnányi's Sextet in C.
