Dutch premiere
The beautiful Missa Tagore by Uusberg features a-cappella sections on traditional Mass texts and pieces accompanied by harp and cello, set to the words of Rabindranath Tagore. The program also includes compositions for harp (by Gustav Holst and Nico Muhly) and for cello (by John Tavener and Sarah Quartel).
World Premiere
Additionally, a special piece featuring the marimba will accompany the music of Dominick DiOrio and Ēriks Ešenvalds. Our conductor, Felix van den Hombergh, has composed Chō, a brand-new piece for choir, cello, harp, and marimba, especially for the anniversary. Expect two stunning performances filled with mystical, romantic, and natural themes.
