YPF Young Virtuosi serie: Nikola Meeuwsen
The Young Pianist Foundation (YPF) presents a series of concerts in De Duif for young top pianists, the 'Young Virtuosi', in which they are given the opportunity to develop their craftsmanship further and get the best out of themselves. During these special concerts, young top pianists will play on the grand piano of the legendary Russian pianist Youri Egorov, who died in Amsterdam at the age of 33.

About Nikola Meeuwsen
Nikola Meeuwsen (2002) is a young pianist with an already impressive career. On 19 January 2024, he made his full-length solo debut at the Concertgebouw, performing works by Schubert, Beethoven, Brahms, and Schumann. In 2025, he will perform for the third time as a soloist with the Residentie Orkest.
At 20, Nikola became the youngest musician ever to win the Grachtenfestival Prize and served as artist-in-residence at the 2023 festival. He also performed Grieg's Piano Concerto at the Rudolfinum in Prague during the Young Prague festival.
Nikola collaborates with leading young talents like Noa Wildschut and Benjamin Kruithof and has performed with his mentor Enrico Pace. He has studied with Marlies van Gent since 2010, and from 2014 also with Enrico Pace at the Accademia Pianistica in Imola. He is currently a student at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Brussels, studying under Frank Braley and Avedis Kouyoumdjian.
