Film classics come to life

During this festive evening, iconic film music will be played that is loved by millions of people worldwide. From classics such as Cabaret , Breakfast at Tiffany’s or The Wizard of Oz to more modern films such as Frozen and Skyfall : they will all be featured. The music is just as varied as the films. Even the 20th Century Fox Fanfare , the opening tune of countless classics, is on the program.

Red carpet

During A Night at the Oscars, the red carpet is rolled out for vocalist Mary Carewe, conductor Nicholas Milton and the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie. They translate the grandeur of the Oscars to the Concertgebouw and perform the music of Oscar-winning blockbusters. English vocalist Mary Carewe sings songs by Adele, Liza Minnelli and Judy Garland, among others. Australian conductor Nicholas Milton is in charge. He is known for his charismatic stage personality and powerful performance of well-known works. He is one of the best-known Australian conductors and the only Australian conductor ever to be nominated for a Grammy.
